SOLSKJAER’S PROMISE TO SANCHO
Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has reportedly spoken to Jadon Sancho to assure him that a deal is close to being agreed.
Borussia Dortmund have been adamant they will not be selling the 20-year-old, on whom they have slapped a £108million ($A190m) asking price.
Personal terms are already said to have been agreed with Sancho, but as of yet, the Red Devils have been reluctant to fork out the huge sum of money.
This has led to the club to fear missing out on him next year, with the likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona and Liverpool known to be interested.
But, according to Norwegian news outlet Dagbladet via the Metro, Solskjaer has been in constant contact with Sancho this summer.
They state that the ex-Cardiff gaffer recently assured the England international that he will be a United player by the end of the window.
United have until October 5 to secure his services, otherwise they run the risk of not signing him at all.

GUNNERS EYE $160 DOUBLE SWOOP
Arsenal are set to spend big again this summer with moves for Thomas Partey and Houssem Aouar in the offing.
The Gunners yesterday confirmed star striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has signed a bumper new three-year contract.
And the North Londoners plan to keep splashing the cash in order to build a star-studded team around him.
Atletico midfielder Partey, 27, has been linked with an Emirates switch for months.
The Ghanaian ace is keen on the move and with Arsenal still interested, the Gunners could soon meet Atletico’s £50million ($A88m) asking price, according to the Mirror.
Lyon’s French ace Aouar is slightly behind Partey in the priority list although Mikel Arteta is still keen.
So Arsenal would have to offload some players to raise cash if they want to land the £40m ($A71m) rated 22-year-old as well.
Backup goalkeeper Emi Martinez has signed for Aston Villa in a £20m deal.
And the Gunners are looking to get even more fringe players off their books to fund any deals before the October 5 deadline.
Sokratis, Lucas Torreira, Shkodran Mustafi, Calum Chambers and Sead Kolasinac are all up for sale.

TOFFEES POISED FOR MIDFIELD CLEAROUT
Everton will look to sell the likes of Alex Iwobi, Moise Kean and Theo Walcott before the October transfer deadline, according to reports.
Carlo Ancelotti’s side got off to the perfect start on Sunday, winning 1-0 at Tottenham Hotspur in their Premier League curtain-raiser.
Midfield new-boys Allan, Abdoulaye Doucoure and James Rodriguez all impressed as Everton bossed Spurs in their own back yard.
But having shelled out big money to recruit the three star names, the Toffees could do with shifting some high-earning players in order to balance the books.
And according to the Mirror, these outgoings could include two of director of football Marcel Brands’ signings from just 12 months ago.
Everton splashed £29million ($A51m) on promising Juventus striker Kean, 20, last summer.
But with the Italian having scored just twice in 34 appearances, he could already find himself on the way out.
Iwobi, 24, has similarly struggled to make an impact at Goodison following his £40m ($A71m) switch from Arsenal, and Everton will listen to offers for the Nigerian international.
